If you’re wondering how on earth this came to pass then that is entirely valid. Why on earth was I, a random journalist who is just here driving her own car and doing a silly little newsletter and podcast, getting to be taken out on a motorbike through a whole stage of the race? The answer is that I have no idea why me, only that Marie, who is the big boss of the press room, crouched in front of my little section of plastic table one day and asked if I wanted to do it.
