Will Annemiek ever retire?

This is the last you’ll here from us, two World Champs Grinches, about last weekend, but we couldn’t let THAT ride from Annemiek go without a mention.

So, Wollongong has spoken: Annemiek van Vleuten will wear 🌈 rainbows 🌈 for her final year of racing. Or will she? No, I know it was early in the morning but I’m not questioning whether she actually won the race (did you SEE that attack?) I’m talking about the fact that she has already cast doubts over whether she can bring herself to retire at the end of next season. 

It was only in June this year that the 39-year-old announced she would be calling time on her career. The obvious question was why she would jack it in just a year before the next Olympics but AVV was across that, saying that she wanted to “go out on a high” because, while right now she is still seeing improvements, she realises there’s a limit to that.
