Hello lovely subscribers and welcome to Women’s Cycling Weekly! 🚴♀️
How wrong I was last week about Romandie. I don’t think I was alone in thinking that Demi Vollering would come out swinging, fired up after her Tour misfortunes, and comfortably take victory. As it turned out, her teammate, Lotte Kopecky, came to be her biggest challenger and eventual winner of the overall as Vollering faced another ill-fated GC campaign thwarted by crashes and suspect team tactics.
Speaking of Kopecky — are we just viewing her as a full-on GC contender now? She seems to be filling that role pretty well nowadays and with Vollering leaving SD Worx at the end of this season
