Give us the gravel đș
Why you won't be able to watch Lorena Wiebes, Demi Vollering et. al race for rainbows
Hello lovely subscribers and welcome to Womenâs Cycling Weekly! đŽââïž
Itâs been a week of wins for non-SD Worx riders đ€Ż with victories in Italy and Belgium for some of this seasonâs biggest protagonists in Liane Lippert, Pfeiffer Georgi and Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig. Lippert is well and truly in her leader era already after AVVâs retirement.
Elsewhere, itâs the gravel world championships this weekend and, while Iâve said before that I donât find watching gravel racing quite as exciting as other disciplines, that doesnât excuse the discrepancy between coverage of the menâs and womenâs races in Italy. With the women racing tomorrow (Saturday) and the men on Sunday youâd think theyâd be able to deliver equal coverage no probs (and they should do so anyway). Well, the UCI have out-done themselves with this one because while the menâs race will be broadcast, the womenâs will not. A huge L for the UCI and a huge disappointment for those who were looking forward to seeing the stacked field of WorldTour riders race.
Sorry to start the weekend on a bum note, friends! Thereâs still so much work to be done đ”âđ«.
Enjoy the newsletter,

The explanation from UCI that it was "due to no TV production" because of the local organising committee didn't make much sense to me either... A bit like saying there is no rain today because there isn't water falling from the sky in my opinion. Anyway, glad there will be a broadcast next time!
This massively sucks! What are they thinking??!
