Hello! Welcome to Women’s Cycling Weekly! 🚴♀️
We’re just one WWT race away from the end of the 2022 season and, honestly, where did it go? Having had some really busy periods in my personal life coincide with the post-TDFF races and then worlds I’ve actually not had my head as stuck in the racing as I might usually have so tbh I’ve got a bit of a second wind and renewed enthusiasm for racing and work…just in time for it to all quieten down for a while 🙃.
But OH WELL because that energy isn’t going to be wasted. Tilda and I had a Super Important and Top Secret Zoom the other day about which all will be revealed next week and we have lots of stuff coming your way throughout the off season to keep you going until Tour Down Under (hey, it’s back, and its WWT!)
If you want to really stay in the loop then make sure to subscribe to our extra weekly content!
Meanwhile, I’m honestly fuming at the UCI for their decision to u-turn on demoting RideLondon for failing to meet live coverage requirements. (Check back on CyclingTips.com for my thoughts on this later if u care.)

P.s: If you’ve come here from Triathlonish then HI! And big thanks to Kelly O’Mara for recommending WCW! If triathlon is your thing then head over and check it out!
News 📰
Marta Cavalli is due to return to racing tomorrow at the Giro dell'Emilia Internazionale Donne Elite after a huge chunk of time away following her crash at the Tour de France Femmes in July.
Controversially, the UCI has decided NOT to put the RideLondon Classique into the naughty corner — as they did to the Giro Rosa in 2021 — and demote it to .Pro status after organisers failed to provide live coverage of most of the stages. Apparently, organisers have provided sufficient evidence of “contractual commitments to broadcast all stages of the race live on TV in 2023” but the UCI’s inconsistent example is not the one, tbh.
Emilie Moberg has announced that she will retire at the end of this season.
Annemiek van Vleuten is having retirement doubts, and the sky is blue.
The Afghan national championships are due to take place in Switzerland next month. Although there have been accounts of the head of Afghan federation excluding certain riders from the event.
Lauretta Hanson recently underwent surgery to tackle labial swelling caused by saddle problems. She opened up about the condition and surgery on Instagram.
