Former Australian national champion, Sarah Gigante has had to undergo surgery for Iliac artery endofibrosis meaning that she will miss out on the Aussie summer of racing.
The remainder of the final round of the UCI Track Champions League was cancelled after a nasty crash saw Katy Marchant and Alessa-Catriona Pröpster launch over the barriers and into the crowd. Four members of the public were injured and Marchant suffered a broken wrist and two dislocated fingers. Lee Valley Velodrome, where the racing was being held, are re-examining safety measures as a result.
The third round of the cyclocross World Cup in Cabras, Italy, was cancelled last weekend due to stormy weather. The World Cup will continue this weekend in Namur.
National champion Fariba Hashimi has signed a contract wit Ceratizit WNT to become the first Afghan woman to join the WorldTour.
MTB Enduro racer Ares Masip has spoken out about an alleged sexual assault that she endured at the 2023 Leogang Mountain Bike World Cup.
