One foot in the off season
and one in the 'cross season
Hello lovely subscribers and welcome to Women’s Cycling Weekly! 🚴♀️
It’s that weird limbo time of year where the road season is still going on for some, others have clocked off for the year and got onto the bevs 🍻 and some are just getting ready for a winter of cyclocross. This weekend illustrates that perfectly with Tour of Chongming Island finishing tomorrow and Tour of Guangxi still to come, while the first cyclocross world cup of the season already kicks off on Sunday. It’s like those awkward Autumn temperatures where you go outside in the morning wearing a jumper and end up sweating by lunch time. But the more bike racing the better, right?
In other news, idk about you guys but I’m still fuming about the lack of live coverage from last week’s gravel worlds and the flagrant discrimination between the men’s and women’s races in that respect. It’s just not good enough in 2023. Neither is the fact that there’s no women’s category at the freeride event, Red Bull Rampage, which is currently happening, or that, as far as I can tell, there might not be any for Tour of Guangxi, either? Ugh.
