Hello lovely subscribers and welcome to Womenโs Cycling Weekly! ๐ดโโ๏ธ
Maybe I shouldnโt divulge this to a newsletter built around hyping up womenโs racing but I have habit of starting to get a bit bored with the current season and looking forward to the next by around this time every year.
Post-Tour, the only thing that can keep me interested is the prospect of world champs (last year was particularly bad when that was all done with by the beginning of September). But, with worlds being in its usual slot this year everyone, defending champions and TDFF hitters alike, is looking for that final tune-up meaning that the start list for Romandie got me out of this funk. The first stage today (Balsamo vs Kopecky!!) did not disappoint and with a mountain finish tomorrow itโs going to be a showdown โ will Demi Vollering be looking to tear the race to bits after her TDFF disappointment?
Still, I would be lying if I didnโt admit that I have one eye on the 2025 season already. With so many huge transfers being announced (and rumoured) and other big changes coming such as a three-tier team system thereโs so much to look forward to. Is it legit to get excited for Opening Weekend in September?
Enjoy the newsletter!
