Hello lovely subscribers and welcome to Women’s Cycling Weekly! 🚴♀️
As I wrote in yesterday’s paid newsletter:
It would be remiss to start off this issue without mentioning the closure of GCN+ which was announced yesterday. It’s never nice to see cycling-specific outlets run by people for whom the sport is their heart and soul are swallowed up by big corporations. It’s very sad to see it go and I hope it doesn’t spell disaster for the way we watch cycling. Most of all, though, my heart goes out to those who have found themselves without a job or who are now on uncertain ground.
Women’s Cycling Weekly is THREE years old guys! (TBT to the first ever issue.)
Three years of bringing you a weekly round up of what’s happening in the world of women’s cycling. Women’s racing has come SO far since then (a Tour de France!!) and so has this newsletter (a paid subscriber tier, a podcast!!)
I just want to thank everyone who subscribes to this lil project of mine for supporting! Here’s to three more years 🫶
Enjoy this week’s issue!

I sat down to chat with Brodie Chapman in another IRL interview for the WCW pod. Brodie talked about what has been a difficult season for her, how she's spent her off season, what she's looking forward to next year and learning from her Lidl Trek teammates. Brodie is always full of interesting thoughts and opinions on how to improve the sport and we talked about the ways in which women's racing is changing, and how organisers need not be afraid of challenging the peloton! Also sorry for background noise as we recorded in a cafe and also yes I do interview non-Aussie/Kiwi riders too.
Abby Mickey’s on the other side of the podcast, appearing on Girls Gone Gravel as this week's guest.
