Hello lovely subscribers and welcome to Women’s Cycling Weekly! 🚴♀️
The brand-spanking new Giro d’Italia Women (RCS’s version) is just a few days away now. I will never not be fuming that this race coincides with the Tour, with which it is impossible to compete, meaning that it won’t get half as much coverage as it otherwise could. Still, this year’s edition promises to give a new lease of life to a race that has begun to lag behind in the post-TDFF landscape.
Not only are we getting a (hopefully) better organised race, there’s one hell of a start list meaning the racing itself should be v. exciting to watch. Just don’t suggest to Elisa Longo Borghini that the race doesn’t count because Demi Vollering isn’t there.
Who’s your prediction for the win?

ELB is probably the sentimental favourite but I’m not sure she’ll be able to leave the young guns behind on those last 3 stages. I’d say Neve Bradbury and Kim Kadzow have got the watts but ELB has the experience.. and without Demi it should be very competitive.
