Hello! Welcome to Women’s Cycling Weekly! 🚴♀️
While we saw some really exciting action at TDU over the 💘 THREE HOURS 💘 of live coverage provided — and it definitely had us looking forward to what’s to come this year — it left us wanting a bit more from the race. BUT, as we discussed in this week’s podcast (featuring none other than Abby Mickey as a guest!) that isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
One thing we weren’t lacking, however, was content, which makes this newsletter a whole lot easier to put together! So get scrolling…

News 📰
UAE Team ADQ announced they have folded the Valcar-Travel & Service team into the organisation as the UAE Development Team. Interestingly, this means that the former Valcar team — which spawned the likes of Elisa Balsamo and Silvia Persico — won’t be able to enter the same races at the WWT squad.
Pauline Ferrand Prevot has been forced to end her cyclocross season early to focus on recovering from an injury she sustained at the Gavere World Cup in December.

As has four-time Olympic gold medalist Laura Kenny, who is expecting her second child. While announcing her pregnancy, Kenny spoke openly about the difficulties she has faced after suffering both a miscarriage and an ectopic pregnancy.
Christine Majerus has announced that she intends to retire after the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which would mark the end of a 16-year professional career.
