Women's Cycling Weekly issue 41
A weekly curation of women's cycling news and content straight to your inbox
Hello! Welcome to Women’s Cycling Weekly issue 41 🚴♀️
Yes, your eyes do not deceive you, this newsletter has — for the first time in ages — reached your inbox in a timely manner on a Friday.
I could pretend that I have magically acquired more time or energy (how do I do this?) but that would be a bit fake and I’m only fake when I’m pretending to know about men’s racing*. Sadly, I haven’t suddenly got my sh*t together (when will this happen, please?) but instead, I have enlisted help in the form of the lovely Tilda Price.
Some facts about Tilda:
She is the gal BTS on WCW fav The Bunnyhop but watch out for her on-screen debut soon 😉.
She did a degree in languages and her life ambition is to speak 10 of them (🤯).
She reads approx 100000000 books a week and I don’t understand how.
Can’t believe she's allowing me to share this but: she’s 23 and still genuinely a fan of One Direction.
Okay, so with that out of the way, let’s get on with the bit you’re here for.
*don’t @ me this is a joke.

Once again on Freewheeling you are spared the sound of my dulcet tones because instead of the usual chats, Abby went for pancakes (mmm) with recently-retired Lauren Kitchen. Amongst lots of other things, they chatted about Lauren’s retirement, what’s changed in the women’s peloton over the years, and the need for a proper development pathway. Warning: you will crave pancakes after listening 🥞.
PSA:
There’s no way of writing this without sounding like I’m telling people off but I promise there’s no malice here, just simply looking to save my own sanity (what’s left of it).
This newsletter aims to be a curation of info and content and is not, by any means, exhaustive. By that, I mean that it is impossible for me to list every single event/result/story/article.
If you really think that something is worthy of being included that week then please send it by email to mamilrepeller@gmail.com before Friday. That doesn’t mean don’t get in touch. I would LOVE to hear any stories or interesting ideas — but we can’t have every single national level race in every country listed, for example.
Of course I appreciate people who want to help and contribute, and I understand those who want to promote their stuff, but commenting/@-ing me on Twitter or emailing after the week’s issue has gone out serves absolutely no purpose.
Okay? Okay. *Takes off ‘stern teacher’ hat*.
Thanks x
That’s all 👋
Thanks for reading Women’s Cycling Weekly, I hope you have had a lovely weekend.
Anyway, if you liked what you read you can buy WCW a ‘coffee’ on Ko-Fi.
Until next time,
