Hello! Welcome to Women’s Cycling Weekly issue 48 🚴♀️
Two weeks goes by fast, especially when you haven’t written the intro to your newsletter and you spent the last two weeks putting it off and then leave it until you make it to your parents house in the UK and it’s raining and dark at 4:30pm and you have no inspiration so you just write a stream of consciousness.
Anyway, a fair bit has happened lately: the transfers just keep on coming, and some good cx and track racing went down so have a scroll for the results from those.
If you take one thing from this newsletter or click one link can I ask that it’s this interview with Afghan cyclist Rukhsar Habibzai? It’s written my me but that’s honestly not the point — this isn’t a gratuitous plug. Rukhsar is an incredible woman who has so much strength and determination and drive in the face of a truly awful situation that has forced her to flee her country and leave her family behind.
Now, on with it…

Gracie has been absent from Freewheeling for a while because she’s been busy being a boss babe elsewhere. This week, though, she sat down and interviewed former team mate Grace Brown about her role in the peloton, how she deals with pressure, cycling development in Australia, and what she is looking forward to in 2022.
The Cycling Podcast Féminin returned, too, this time featuring Lizzy Banks as a host, talking about Paris Roubaix and next year’s TdF Femmes.
