Hello lovely subscribers and welcome to Women’s Cycling Weekly! 🚴♀️
While half of the peloton are Down Under for the Aussie summer of cycling, there’s a contingent of WWT squads over in Mallorca for a selection of new one-day races on the island. Those in Aus still have the Deakin University Elite Women’s Road Race (aka Cadel’s) to come while the Mallorca crew will likely hop over the Balearic Sea to race the Vuelta CV Feminas and the Setmana Ciclista Valenciana — that’s if they’re not heading out to UAE Tour Women 😵.
The early-season calendar is growing for the women, meaning more prep races before the season kicks off for *real* and, in-turn, a higher level for those bigger races that come later on. It’s also great for fans who get to follow more and more pre-Omloop racing than ever. I must admit, though, that I still find it hard to engage fully before the end of Feb — anyone else?
In other news, Tilda has discovered a direct correlation between subscribing to WCW (and listening to the podcast) and winning the Tour Down Under after speaking to Sarah Gigante at the race 👀.
Enjoy this week’s issue!

If you have the time, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the Jos van Emden interview. I am less than impressed, but I'm sure your take would be more informed, thoughtful, and entertaining.
