Last minute mention of CX in the post justifies this digression hopefully, talking of race dominance. Netherlands totally dominate women's CX currently, but in the U23 and Juniors it was a totally different story (almost no Dutch contenders at all). I wonder if there is any reason for this (did the reduce investment in grass roots?), and how long before the elite wins get more spread out as Fem/Puck are still so young? Fem is on another planet at the moment - I do miss the ding dong battles of last season I have to say (even though, as with Demi and Lotte, Fem is ace so that's ok!)

Oops! I guess it's easy to get sucked into the road racing season once it's started but I definitely could have talked more about cross worlds! I really thought we were in for a super exciting battle after watching Hoogerheide the week before but with Blanka ill and Puck not on her best day it was always going to be Fem. Not sure about the Dutch representation at junior and U23 level but that's interesting ,maybe it does relate to investment at grassroots level. Hopefully by next season things will become more even.

No worries, road is road and soon it's proper road! Yeah the seniors race was game over half a lap in. it will be interesting to see how the Netherlands dominance plays out as Fem and Puck are still so young, but it's fascinating that in U23 and Juniors it's completely different!
